A Biographical Sketch of

REV. BRENDAN A. JENKINS

Rev. Brendan A. Jenkins is a servant of our Lord and Savior Jesus

Christ, he is the second of three sons of Georgia and Jimmy

Jenkins. Born on a marine base in Camp La Jeune, N.C.; he grew

up in Houston, TX. His father taught Rev. Jenkins the importance

of hard work and self-discipline. His mother instilled in him the

importance of showing love to others and giving of self unselfishly.

An ordained Baptist preacher baptized Rev. Jenkins at the age of

nine. He was brought up in the church and trained in the teaching

of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Rev. Jenkins grew up in a

middle class African American family where Christian beliefs and

practices were firmly indoctrinated. Rev. Jenkins felt the Lord

pulling on his heart to preach the gospel at the young age of

fourteen, but prayed and resisted the call wanting instead to be a

civil rights lawyer.

Rev. Jenkins received his B.S. degree in Sociology/ English from

the University of Houston in 1994, followed by a year long study of

law at the Thurgood Marshall Law School. Rev. Jenkins was

guided by the Holy Spirit to make his residence in Atlanta, GA, in

July of 1998 and Antioch Baptist Church North his church home. Upon arriving in Atlanta,

Georgia in June 1998, Rev. Jenkins submitted to the will of the Lord after an encounter with God

wherein he was told “everything you do will fail until you submit to my will for your life, for

which he responded Lord do with my life what you will, show me the way Lord, show me the

way”. He has been blessed to be licensed, ordained and trained by the Rev. Dr. Cameron

Alexander, Pastor of the Antioch Baptist Church North of Atlanta Ga. As he reflects upon his

studies in seminary and the teachings of Dr. Alexander, he is confirmed daily in his effort to

pursue and fulfill God’s divine ministry for his life.

Rev. Jenkins is a proven leader, entrepreneur and business owner in 1999, after his employer

closed their Georgia office, he organized and began Legal Plus Investigative Services: a full

service information and investigative research firm, which continues to serve the business and

private consumer community today.

Rev. Jenkins fulfilled the requirements and received the Masters of Divinity degree from

Morehouse School of Religion (I.T.C.) on May 10th, 2003. He is the 2003 recipient of the

Morehouse School of Religion, Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Award and the Newcomb

Endowment Award. Rev. Jenkins is married to the lovely Dr. Jelyne Martin Jenkins of Elberton, Ga

and the proud father of Shelby and Darby Jenkins. On the 2nd Sunday in March 2010 the Lord

enlarged his coast and called Rev. Jenkins to Pastor the historic Old Friendship MBC of Marietta,

Ga where he served faithfully until February of 2015.

The Bible declares if though will be faithful over a few things God will maker you ruler over

much more. On the 2nd Sunday in March 2015 The Lord called Rev. Jenkins to serve as Pastor

& Under-Shepherd of one of his best churches the Rocky Ford "the Rock" Baptist Church of

Dallas, Ga. Rev. Jenkins serves as the President of the Congress of Christian Education for the

Kennesaw Missionary Baptist Association, and is the zone 4 Vice President for the 7th District

General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia.

As a visionary leader with a passion for the youth and the least of these, Rev. Jenkins merged

his investigative skill community outreach and accepted a position with the Governors Office

of the Child Advocate for the Protection of Children, as a Compliance Investigator in June of

2012. He is committed to protecting and serving the children of our state.

Rev. Jenkins approach to ministry is centered on Luke 4:18-21, wherein Jesus proclaims his

mission and purpose in his hometown of Nazareth. He believes that God has a mission and

purpose for each one of us and it is our responsibility to accept Jesus Christ as our personal

Lord and Savior and take up our cross and follow him. The characteristics that best describe

Rev. Jenkins is that he has a sincere love for people and has been blessed by God with

intellectual and spiritual discernment, personal intestinal fortitude and wherewithal to fulfill

God’s plan and purpose for his life and the sincere desire to inspire others to maximize their

gifts.
